Colored: Butterflies II Fused Glass Waterslide Decal

Each Butterfly is a unique fusible glass decal with an intricate and colorful design.  Each of the butterflies is action-oriented in a different position as if the butterfly is flying around.  The color is a high-fire enamel but as with all waterslide decals, do best when fired to a tack fuse or at slightly higher temperature on the glass surface.  A Tack fuse allows the enamel to bond to the surface of the glass when it is soft and not distort the design or lines, which can happen at a full fuse when the glass is molten and moving around.

Here we pre-fired a precut circle white base with clear dicro glass over it as a full fuse.  Then apply the Butterfly waterslide decal. Allow the decal to dry so no water it under it, i.e. completely dry, and then fire the pendant to a tack fuse.  As you can see the decal colors held up beautifully.  This particular decal does hold up well to tighter temperature firings.

Use: These are best as surface-fired decals (do not cap with glass or the color may fade)

Tack Fuse: kiln-fired from 1,325 to 1,445 F degrees.
