Dam Glass Frit Casting Mold in a 6" x 6" square is an easy way for anyone to use up spare glass and form a tile with multiple purposes. Great for designing or experimenting with the glass you have available. The amount of frit or glass depends upon how thick you want you finished piece. This mold requires a minimum of 16 ounces of medium Frit or glass. You should use a very slow melting stage in your programming regardless if you are using frit or scrap glass to help avoid trapped air bubbles. If you mound the glass in the mold we suggest not more than 1 1/2 lbs. so the glass does not flow over the edges. In addition, for the first time using this mold it would be recommended that you double your annealing time to allow just in case the scrap you are using a mixture of opal and clear or a mixture of scraps. This will allow for a stronger finished glass piece.
Adjust the frit amounts to achieve the desired thickness of glass.
